I'm definitely a fan! I was very sad when Tandoori N Curry first closed down because I thought I lost my favorite Indian food spot. Thankfully, next thing I hear is that this place had opened up! The menu is very similar to other Indian restaurants in the area but I love that they are quick and consistent. Granted, I usually order "to go" (I like to buy garlic naan at the farmers market because its a little cheaper... the naan here is amazing though!) but I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes on the rare occasion that I forget to pre-order my food. When I remember to pre-order, I get there and they have my food bagged and ready to go right away! My favorite dish is and will always be their butter chicken. Perfect consistency, large serving, and paired with their garlic naan--heaven on earth! My coworkers and I decided to order together last week and their chicken tikka masala and goat kahuri (sp?) looked amazing as well! One of these days I must eat at their restaurant so that I can enjoy their mango lassi!

We noticed there was a new (Indian? I think it's Indian) restaurant nearby the workplace and immediately had to try it out. The restaurant has a very authentic and ethnic feel to it since everything from the floor pattern to the artwork on the walls alludes to Indian culture. When you go in you will notice a buffet-style setting and a lot of men in business suits eating. We ordered our food to-go and came a bit early to ensure we got the meal fresh and hot. I don't remember the exact names of the food that we ordered, though it was all very delicious. I love paneer and masala so it was natural to get the paneer masala, which was deliciously flavored and rich- just how I like it. We also got a roast chicken of some sort and I was very surprised at how moist and tender it was and I didn't have to worry at all about anything dry. The third thing we got was an eggplant dish, which has got to be one of the best Indian eggplant dishes I have ever had- something about the amount of spices that went into it just made it taste great. All of this was served with a lot of naan, which was perfectly textured and went well with our meal. All of this served about four people, and we were all very full and satisfied at the end. If you're ordering to-go I highly recommend calling in advance and picking it up 20-30 minutes later. Since the food is made on the spot, it tastes that much better and is definitely worth the wait! It's a shame this restaurant is so hidden from street view. If you're in the area I definitely recommend checking it out.

I've been enjoying lunch here since it was called "Shahnawaz." When it changed to "Tandoori-n-Curry," they started adding more entrees to the buffet. Now, as "Kebab House," they have done extensive remodeling and upgrading to the restaurant. I've never visited India or Pakistan, so I don't know what the food there is really like. But it seems to me that the food at Kebab house is more like "home cooking" than most restaurants. I always eat from the buffet. Everything is labeled. Some of the food is a little strange or exotic but rarely is it too spicy for my taste. Freshly made naan is included with the buffet, along with their delicious hot tea. One time, a member of our party remarked to the manager that she was disappointed because there was no butter chicken on the buffet that day. Five minutes later, the cook laid a small plate of butter chicken on our table. They didn't even charge us extra! It used to be that the clientele was predominantly Indian and Pakistani folks. But that has changed over the years. Now you see people of every ethnicity. Yet even during busy times, I can always find an empty table when I arrive. I recommend Kebab House. Everybody I have taken there likes it. So does everybody who tried it based on my suggestion. By the way, I have used the restroom. It's clean.

Sequels to movies are usually not as good as the original 'coz the studios are just trying to cash in on the original success. This is not the case with Kebab House. I've been dining at the same location and four management/ownership changes over the years. Kebab House is the newest name at this same location. My experiences just keep getting better and better. For your reference it used to be called Tandoori-n-Curry and before that Shahnawaz and before that my memory (limited to 4GB) failed me. http://www.yelp.com/biz/tandoori-n-curry-milpitas-2#hrid:8xRIT-hIE8OTbFv-SWZS6A/src:self Anyway, back to Kebab House. The new management really put effort in making changes and adding new improvements everywhere which is contrary to the old saying 'if it ain't broke why fix it'. Check out the new paint and carpet throughout the restaurant. Notice the colorful paintings, new counter top, brand new silverware, clean restrooms, and most of all, the happy folks working there. Then notice the expanded spread for the lunch buffet. Fresh appetizers, delicious goat curry, fluffy naan, succulent tandoori chicken, fragrant briyani, choice of two dessert items and potent masala chai are all part of the deal. Even my Pakistani and Indian friends vouch for KH and think it's one of the best in the Bay Area. Let me write their first review for 2012 and hope that they'll be around for as long as I eat there.
